My name is Ashley, and I’m currently a student at Full Sail University. I’m in the Creative Writing for Entertainment program, because writing has been the only thing I’ve ever wanted to do with my life. I’ve always had an insane passion and love for books. While other kids were actually paying attention in 7th grade Algebra, I was reading and writing my own little stories. I did this not only because I hated math (not much has changed in that respect), but also to escape. In books, I found realities and worlds and truth separate from my own. I was able to mentally run away, even if it was just for an hour. I was able to create characters that were bolder than I was, and braver. If they wanted to run away, they could; and they did. They had the courage to say things that I could not. Truthfully, most characters of mine have some little piece of me stored inside of them. In these fictional worlds, I could escape pain, and stress. Of course, all of it was temporary, and I even felt empty after I would finish reading a book, but I could and would always find another to lose myself in. Books have been there for me more often than people have, believe it or not. They, and their authors, have helped me for as long as I can remember, have gotten me through rough times, and have changed my perception. I hope to be able to do the same one day for people, if by some miracle, I become a published author. I am 20 year old writer, and writing isn’t easy for me; but it is the only thing that makes me feel alive.
